13th Gate Escape, Louisiana's Ultimate Escape Games

We have done two of these escape rooms and they were AMAZING! We live out of town and come to Louisiana a few times a yea to visit family. We did the Cutthroat Cavern, which is rated #2 in the world! When we did it the first time (yes, we've done it twice!) we were completely blown away. Where we come from the escape rooms are nothing like this. I am leaving out detail for a reason! We just recently did Disappearance of Flight 13. Once again, another fantastic room! They put their all into these rooms and you can tell. They are extremely creative and immersive. The building feels like it's a trailer, but that is more than easily overlooked as soon as you meet the friendly and fun staff and are taking back to your room!

Family reunion in @NOLA included a trip to Baton Rouge just so we could experience 13th Gate Escape games. We booked all of them over two days among this large group. Everyone loved it and for those who had played games elsewhere, including Vegas, rated 13th Gate the best. We had one person who said he hated games and didn’t want to do them - but after experiencing 13th Gate he changed his mind and did the others. The staff were all very professional and experienced - especially thoughtful working the holiday. Kudos to Baton Rouge to have games at this massive scale and quality.

We did Cuthroat Cavern… OMG! The immersiveness and quality of the set/rooms was so impressive! I love 13th gate for not making escape rooms the usual “find a key, unlock a lock, rinse, repeat.” It’s all different puzzles that make you feel like you’re in National Treasure or something! So cool! Shoutout to our Game Master Houston who was so great and helped make the experience fun!

Update: I was contacted by the owner and he apologized for our experience. We’ve been back twice since and had a blast! Emma was our Game Master both times and she was amazing! So far we’ve done The Asylum, Disappearance of Flight 13, and The Collector. We will definitely be back to give the other rooms a try. The attention to detail in these rooms is like no other. 5 stars for sure! The room itself was amazing. The details they put into these rooms is like no other escape room I’ve been to. Just rating the rooms alone I would give it 5 stars. However our Game Master (can’t even remember her name) and the other staff members at this location were pretty unwelcoming. We hadn’t even started our game yet but were in the waiting area and would have been interested in playing another room that same night if any were available. The staff member at the counter spoke to us as if we were bothering her by asking. Our kids love doing escape rooms and my husband is big on customer service. I also didn't like that fact that the fact that the clue were prerecorded and were constantly repeated rather than them being personalized by the Game Master. Unfortunately we likely won’t be returning back to this location. But I encourage anyone to give this place a try. Maybe their experience will be a little better.
